We encourage you to read the content of the invitation to join an international research project “EIT Food RIS Consumer Engagement Labs 2022”, led by EIT Food and University of Warsaw, funded by Horizon Europe programme. The project involves a series of creative workshops, in which consumers and companies propose new packaging designs for takeaway meals that could be further developed and introduced to the local markets.
We are currently looking for consortia, consisting of universities, packaging companies and restaurants/catering companies to implement the project in: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey.
We’ve already successfully implemented similar co-creation workshops in 14 countries from Eastern and Southern Europe, working with universities and research institutes as local workshop coordinators, and supporting food companies in their commercialisation efforts. You can read more about the project in the attached leaflet and on our website http://timo.wz.uw.edu.pl/cel
The project outcomes are very encouraging, with several products already in the market, local scientists benefiting from access to innovative co-creation methodology as well as engaged and satisfied consumers.
This year, the activities will be focused on identifying new types of packaging for takeaway food/ready-to-eat meals delivered to consumers by restaurants or delivery companies, with a view to reduce the usage of plastics and comply with the principles of the circular economy.
The official call is published online by EIT Food under the following link:
Applications need to be submitted jointly by a university and two companies, based on a very concise and easy-to-complete form. If you let us know, we could help you identify potential corporate partners, based on our database of packaging companies and restaurants/meal delivery companies in Europe.
The application deadline is 22nd March 2022.
We warmly encourage you to share this information with relevant contacts and/or apply to join our project. As you will see from the website and the attached brochure, participation in EIT Food Consumer Engagement Labs in 2019-2021 has proven a very rewarding experience for local organisations and consumers, and we are looking forward to working also with new organisations.
