Lublin Erasmus Integration Day
On March 14th, 2019 most Erasmus students studying currently in Lublin gathered together in the hall of Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Lublin University of Technology on the occasion of Lublin Erasmus Integration Day. The event was organized by four Lublin universities : Lublin University of Technology, University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska, Catholic University of Lublin and University of Life Sciences in Lublin.
The idea was to create a common space for all foreign students in Lublin to get to know each other, share experience with their peers and taste the flavours of other country cuisines.
The event was abundant in various attractions prepared by the organisers, Erasmus Student Network and Erasmus students themselves.
Apart from the information stands from each country with a choice of typical gadgets and food served by foreign students, the attraction of the event was a Kahoot contest. It was based on the presentations made by Erasmus students – a representative of each university. The winner of the contest got a Tablet sponsored by University of Life Sciences in Lublin.
I would like to commend our Erasmus student from Turkey – Ziya Baris Herdem, chosen by an Erasmus office to make a presentation of his country for the purpose of the Kahoot quiz. His most lively and witty performance met with a loud applause from the audience. No wonder that he was given a nickname – a ‘stage animal’ for his outgoing presentation. The presenters and participants of the quiz were rewarded with gift packs from each university.
I would also like to thank our students from artistic circle supervised and counseled by dr Paulina Hortyńska : Marlena Walenciuk, Alevtyna Kovtun, Patrycja Dudziak and Alicja Kruk who served as portraitists. For those who prefered caricatures rather than portraits there was an option given by one of our employees Witomiła Kowalik.
Students had also a chance to try their hand on Polish folk dance together with a professional dance group from Lublin University of Technology.
By the end of the event there was a dinner served to everybody. Judging from happy faces of our students it was delicious.
