Laboratory of Feed and Biological Material Analysis
The Institute of Animal Nutrition and Bromatology offers analyses and counselling, expert opinions, and reports in the field of:
o Animal nutrition, in particular:
• Analysis of the composition and nutritional value of feeds
• Assessment of the influence of technological processes on the nutritional value of feeds
• Testing feedstuffs on farm animals
• Assessment of apparent digestibility of feeds and feed rations in animal tests
• Counselling in the field of animal nutrition:
• Determination and calculation of the nutritional value of feed rations and feed mixtures for various species and production groups of farm animals
• Evaluation of the nutritional status of farm animals based on blood organ indicators (analysis of selected haematological and biochemical parameters of animal blood)
• Use of pro-health feed and feed additives in animal nutrition in organic and conventional farming (mainly herbs and their mixtures and phytobiotic, synbiotic, glucogenic, and other preparations
• Assessment of animal performance (meatiness, milk yield, slaughter yield)
• Analysis of the composition of animal raw materials (basic composition, fatty acid profile, cholesterol content, antioxidant potential) – influence of animal nutrition on the nutritional value of animal products
o Bromatology:
• Analysis of the chemical composition, nutritional value, and sensory and physicochemical properties of food
• Assessment of the effect of technological processes on the nutritional value of food
• Analysis of the safety of plant- and animal-origin food
• Analysis of human nutrition, including eating disorders. Planning and optimization of dietary menus for different nutritional groups of people
• Analysis of the nutritional value of traditional and alternative diets, analysis of the nutritional status based on physiological and hair parameters, diet therapy, analysis of food preferences and aversions
• Methods for limitation of absorption of toxic metals in tissues and their adverse effects on the organism
