Abstract
Sustainable development of agriculture of the future is innovative production that provides the opportunity to obtain new quality agricultural products. Innovative agricultural products, in turn, fit into the new lifestyle of society. Therefore, in this research, the authors asked the following questions: (i) How do respondents perceive innovative agricultural production and innovative products in the area of food economy?; (ii) What is the relationship between selected lifestyle elements and the perception of innovative agricultural production and products? The research tool was a survey questionnaire. The diagnostic survey used the CAWI (Computer-Assisted Web Interview) technique. The survey was partial, non-probabilistic; participation was voluntary and anonymous, and the respondent could stop filling out the form at any time. The target group was adults aged ≥ 18 years. They were residents of south-eastern Poland, from the Podkarpacie and Lublin voivodeships. The study was correlational in nature as it looked for relationships between the examined items, without the possibility of influencing the level of individual variables. A five-point Likert scale with a neutral value was used for evaluation. An analysis of the structure of assessments of the examined items was also carried out and a simple Pearson correlation between the examined items was calculated. In order to verify the answers to the research questions regarding the differences between qualitative variables such as sex and place of residence (urban / rural and Lublin / Podkarpacie Voivodeships), a chi-square test of independence was calculated. For a clearer illustration of these differences, categorized charts of the average ratings of the examined items were also prepared. Multiple regression analysis was also calculated in searching for mutual dependencies between selected elements of the respondents’ lifestyle and their perception of innovative production and innovative, agricultural products. The research results indicate a diverse approach to the examined issues for men and women. The place of residence and the respondents’ approach to the examined lifestyle elements influenced their perception of sustainable agricultural production and innovative items of agricultural products, by respondents from south-eastern Poland.
