Faculty of Food Science and Biotechnology

Didactic activity

The Faculty consists of the following fields of study:

  • FOOD TECHNOLOGY AND HUMAN NUTRITION

Full-time study programme includes the following specializations: fruit and vegetable processing, grain processing, meat processing, milk and hydrocolloids technology, food biochemistry, human nutrition, food analysis, gastronomy, assessment and forming of food quality, food fermentation processes. In the academic year 2009/2010 the study programme on the first, second, third and the fourth year is the first cycle and on the first and the second year is the second cycle and on the fifth year is the long cycle (5 years). Full-time first cycle study programme lasts 3,5 years (7 terms) and graduates of this programme are awarded an inżynier degree. Full-time second cycle study programme lasts 1,5 years (3 terms) and the graduates are awarded a magister inżynier degree.

First cycle extramural study programme (4 years) includes the following specializations: meat processing, fruit and vegetables processing, food analysis.

Second cycle extramural study programme (2 years) includes the following specializations: meat processing, fruit and vegetables processing. Food Technology and Human Nutrition in the extramural system was established in the year 2002 whereas second cycle extramural programme was established in 2005.

  • BIOTECHNOLOGY

Full-time and part-time study programmes include the following specializations: biotechnology of plants, biotechnology of animals, biotechnology of food and medicaments, biotechnology of industry and environment.

In the academic year 2009/2010 the study programme on the first, second and third year is the first cycle and on the first year is the second cycle and on the fifth year is the long cycle (5 years). Biotechnology in the full-time study programme was established in the year 2001 whereas in the part-time study programme in 2003.

Full-time first cycle study programme lasts 3.5 years (7 terms) and graduates of this programme are awarded an inżynier degree.
Full-time second cycle study programme lasts 1,5 years (3 terms) and the graduates are awarded a magister inżynier degree.
