  • Information about the programme

    The second-cycle programme in Food Technology and Human Nutrition offers a choice of nine specialisations such as: food analysis, food health safety, bioactive food ingredients, biotechnology in food and human nutrition, gastronomy technology, fruit, vegetable and mushroom technology, cereal technology, meat technology, milk technology. The optional character of the studies is beneficial to the development of individual student interests in the following areas: confectionery, technology of fermented products of plant origin, nutrition of athletes and physically active persons, quality in the laboratory.

  • Examples of courses

    ecological food, nutrigenomics, food adulteration, innovations in animal raw material processing, the human microbiome and diet, specialty fat technology, trends in human nutrition, functional foods.

  • Admission

    Admission to the first year of second-cycle studies leading to the degree of Master of Science may be applied for by those who have obtained a diploma with the professional title of engineer in the field of study for which they are applying or with the professional title of engineer or Master of Science in a related field. The diploma and the average grade of the studies are taken into account in the admission procedure.

  • Career perspectives

    The graduate is prepared to work as a highly qualified person in various sectors of the food industry, official food control bodies, laboratories for food analysis and quality assessment, mass catering companies, in R&D (research and development) in the design and organisation of technological processes and the development of new products, in companies involved in food distribution and trade, vocational education, scientific and research institutions dealing with food issues, and run their own business. Graduates can continue their studies in doctoral school after which they will receive a doctoral degree in food technology and nutrition.
