DIVISION OF POLISH SOCIETY OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING IN LUBLIN
The activities of the Division are primarily concerned with statutory tasks and the organisation of scientific conferences. The Division organizes regular meetings, during which current affairs and scientific issues related to the society’s subject matter are discussed. Moreover, the Lublin Division is a co-organizer of the International Scientific Symposium entitled “Farm Machinery and Processes Management in Sustainable Agriculture” and the Jubilee Conferences of the Faculty of Production Engineering at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, which are held every 5 years. During the academic year, 2-3 seminar meetings are held. These meetings are concerned with three thematic groups related to the activities of Division members:
These meetings enable the exchange of ideas and experiences, especially because among the members of the Division are employees of other scientific institutions, such as the Institute of Agrophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the University of Siedlce, and Lublin University of Technology. Members of PSAE Lublin are also involved in the affairs of the Faculty of Production Engineering and initiate a variety of scientific and teaching activities.

The 12th International Scientific Symposium Farm Machinery and Processes Management in Sustainable Agriculture – FMPMSA took place in Lublin, Poland on June 12-14, 2024.
On the first day, the sessions were held in the building of the Faculty of Production Engineering at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. The next day, a field session was organized – this time in one of the most modern beverage can factories in Europe – Ball Packaging Europe Lublin Sp. z o.o. The third day was dedicated to a study trip during which participants got acquainted with the University Experimental Farm in Czesławice, the activities of the Pustelnia Fishing Inn in Wola Rudzka, the loess ravines in Kazimierz Dolny, and the Janowiec Castle. The trip ended at the Janowiec Castle.
Over 80 people from 16 countries registered for the symposium. 55 papers were delivered. The topics of the presented papers covered issues related to the sustainability of processes and techniques in agriculture and the agri-food industry.
Ball Packaging Europe Lublin made a significant contribution to the organization of the symposium. Paper sessions were held on the factory premises. During the break between sessions, participants toured the production lines of this most modern factory of the Ball Packaging concern.
The symposium was organized by the Department of Machine Operation and Production Process Management of the Production Engineering Faculty of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, together with the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre from Gembloux, Belgium, and the Lublin Branch of the Polish Society of Agricultural Engineering. The European Society of Agricultural Engineers (EurAgEng) provided scientific patronage for these activities. The symposia have been held since 1994. They were organized abroad three times – twice in Gembloux and once in Bari.
The symposium was held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Professor Krzysztof Kowalczyk, as well as the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Lubelskie Voivodeship Jarosław Stawiarski and the President of the City of Lublin PhD Krzysztof Żuk.
The symposium would not have been possible without the support of companies and offices that have been cooperating with the Department of Machine Operation and Production Process Management for many years. These were: Agroplast Marcin Łopąg; Gravit Sp. z o.o.; Kuhn-Maszyny Rolnicze Sp. z o.o.; Noyen Sp. z o.o.; Raiffeisen Waren Sp. z o.o.; Rolniczy Przegląd Techniczny – Wydawnictwo APRA; Same Deutz-Fahr Polska Sp. z o.o. and Traktor 24.pl as well as the Marshal’s Office of the Lubelskie Voivodeship.
Detailed information about the presented papers, published publications and photos from the symposium can be found on the website.
