    SCIENTIFIC & RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

The department staff represent five scientific disciplines: environmental engineering, mining and energy, mechanical engineering, agriculture and horticulture, economics and finance, and management and quality sciences.

Research is focused on the management of production processes and the operation of agricultural and eco-energy machines and equipment. Within this framework, staff members carry out the main research project entitled “Optimization of production processes in agriculture in terms of environmental aspects and the quality of raw materials obtained”. In addition, three other research projects are being carried out:

    • Economic and environmental efficiency of the energy use of plant raw materials and technological processes.
    • Biological, quality, and economic aspects of the use of biostimulants in plant cultivation.
    • Assessment of techniques and technologies for the application of agrochemicals in terms of the quality of raw materials and agricultural products obtained.

    The department has specialized laboratories:

    • Techniques for the application of agrochemicals
    • Mineral fertilization
    • Renewable energy sources

Since 2000, the department has completed 13 doctoral dissertations, 6 staff members have been awarded the degree of habilitated doctor, 3 have been awarded the title of professor of agricultural sciences, and 1 has been awarded the title of professor of engineering sciences.
