The mission of the Faculty of Environmental Biology is consistent with the mission of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and it is to provide the highest quality education. The mission of the faculty, implemented by the community of the faculty, the employees and students, is:

• training the personnel for the country and the region, also in the field of the so-called smart specialisations,
• creation of a competitive curriculum, launching new courses of study according to current needs of the labour market and the knowledge-based economy related to the specificity of the research activity at the faculty,
• development of the research staff and university lecturers,
• improvement of study curricula and teaching based on the Integrated Qualification System taking into account the universal characteristics of the first- and second-cycle studies and consultations with the socio-economic environment,
• improvement of the standards of diploma theses and verification of their independent preparation with the use of the Unified Anti-plagiarism System 
• promoting, among the students and the employees, the attitude of respect for universal principles such as freedom, independence of thought, tolerance, ethics as well as scientific and didactic reliability.

The teaching activities and related research activities at the Faculty of Environmental Biology are promising areas of the faculty. Taking care of the highest quality of the above is the goal of both the authorities and the entire community of the unit. Institutional cooperation with other universities, government entities and businesses is also important. Collaboration with the socio-economic environment is an important factor in our teaching activities.

Strategic objectives of the Faculty of Environmental Biology:

• launching new courses of study in accordance with the current needs of the labour market,
• improvement and evaluation of the quality of education, increasing qualifications and taking advantage of scientific achievements of the academic teachers in the didactic work,
• improvement of the internal system for evaluation of study programmes, qualification of staff, scientific and practical achievements related to conducted or newly created fields of study,
• constant consultations with the socio-economic environment to improve the curriculum,
• systematic expansion of the offer of classes conducted in foreign languages, including classes as part of the Erasmus Plus Programme and promotion of distance learning,
• supporting the mobility of students of first- and second-cycle studies: education in other centres in the country (Most) and abroad (Erasmus), promotion of internships abroad and in the country,
• development of the scientific movement of students, scientific associations and research works performed at the organisational units of the faculty,
• active promotion of the Faculty of Environmental Biology among high school students – development of patronage classes, participation in events promoting biological sciences and the use of the Internet,
• systematic development and modernisation of the research and teaching centres as places of outdoor classes and student internships,
• systematic improvement of the premises of the faculty, making sure that the classrooms and laboratories are equipped with test apparatus.
