Katarzyna Garbacz, M.Sc. under the supervision of dr hab. Adam Waśko, prof. of the university is implementing a project entitled: “Development and optimization of the production process of peptides from plant sources with potential health promoting properties”.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Science and Education from the program “Implementation PhD”. The entity cooperating in the implementation of the project is Biolive Innovation Sp. Z o. o.

Assumptions:

Peptides obtained by protein hydrolysis, carried out under specific conditions using selected plant materials, may exhibit a number of properties that positively affect the body, including antioxidant and hypotensive properties.

Observation of market trends in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries suggests a demand for natural bioactive peptides. Confirmation of the pro-health properties of the obtained peptides will show the possibility of their use in the production of functional foods, dietary supplements or cosmetics.
