Translational Horizons – Scientific Conference at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Life Sciences in Lublin

On 14 May 2026, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin will host the scientific conference “Translational Horizons”, organised by the Student Research Group of Veterinary Analysts under the patronage of the Lublin Division of the Polish Society of Veterinary Sciences.

 

The event will be held in a hybrid format and conducted in English. It will bring together representatives of Polish academic centres as well as participants from abroad, giving the meeting an international and interdisciplinary character.

 

“Translational Horizons is a space where modern scientific thought, research experience and clinical practice meet. We believe that the conference will become a forum for an inspiring exchange of ideas, supporting the development of innovative research directions at the interface of preclinical and clinical sciences, as well as an opportunity for young scientists to present the results of their research” — emphasises dr hab. Joanna Wessely-Szponder, Assoc. Prof., Chair of the Organising Committee.

 

The conference will open with plenary lectures delivered by recognised scientists representing renowned academic centres:

  • Prof. Teresa Vinuesa Aumedes from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Bellvitge Campus, University of Barcelona, will deliver a lecture entitled “In vitro biofilm models in oral diseases”.
  • dr hab. Tomasz Szponder, Associate Professor at the University of Agriculture in Krakow, from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Agriculture in Krakow, will present a lecture entitled “Experimental surgery as an important part in the development of orthopedic procedures in humans and animals”.
  • Assoc. Prof. Zeynep Soyer Sarica from the Gebze Technical University Central Research Laboratory (GTU-MAR), Head of the Animal Research Laboratory and Vice-Chair of the Animal Ethics Committee, will deliver a lecture entitled “The Role of Animal Testing in Preclinical Studies”.

The oral presentation session will take place in Aula A of the Collegium Veterinarium building and will also be streamed via Zoom.
