Students classified as “students with fewer opportunities” may receive additional financial support.

The following groups of students may apply for support for persons with fewer opportunities:

  • students in a difficult financial situation,
  • students with disabilities,
  • students raising a child under the age of 8,
  • students who have the right to asylum or hold refugee status in the territory of the Republic of Poland.

In such cases, students are additionally entitled to:

  • EUR 250 per month – for long-term mobilities,
  • EUR 100 or EUR 150 (depending on the duration of the stay) – for short-term mobilities.

The additional support for persons with fewer opportunities is guaranteed from the beginning of the mobility period until the end of the funding period specified in the mobility agreement concluded between the University and the student.

If a student extends their mobility period, the University may extend the entitlement to receive the additional support, depending on the availability of financial resources.

Failure to submit the required documents by the deadline, or acquiring the right to receive a social grant or a disability certificate after the deadline, does not oblige the University to pay additional support for persons with fewer opportunities.

REGULATIONS BELOW:

Warunki przyznania dofinansowania do wyjazdów studentów niepełnosprawnych zakwalifikowanych na wyjazd w programie Erasmus+PROJECT KA131-2025

Warunki przyznania dofinansowania do wyjazdów studentów niepełnosprawnych zakwalifikowanych na wyjazd w programie Erasmus+ PROJECT KA 131-2024

  • STUDENTS IN A DIFFICULT FINANCIAL SITUATION

In order to receive the additional “support for persons with fewer opportunities”, students/recent graduates going abroad for studies or traineeships who, due to a difficult financial situation, are entitled to receive a social scholarship at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin are required to submit, together with their application documents, a document confirming their entitlement to receive a social scholarship in the semester immediately preceding the mobility period.

    Such a document may be:

    • a decision granting a social scholarship, or
    • a certificate confirming the receipt of a social scholarship issued by the Student Scholarship Office.
  • STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

Students/doctoral students/recent graduates with disabilities may apply for:

    1. Additional “support for persons with fewer opportunities”

To receive this support, the student/doctoral student/recent graduate is required to submit to the International Exchange Office a document confirming the disability, i.e. a disability certificate.

    1. Funding in the form of real costs

This funding consists of additional financial support to cover costs directly related to the disability, without which participation in the mobility would not be possible, and which exceed the amount provided under the “support for persons with fewer opportunities”.

The amount granted for expenses directly related to the disability will be settled as real costs, which means that they must be documented with financial proof. The costs should correspond to the actual needs resulting from the type of disability and be realistically estimated.

In the application for funding of additional costs directly related to the disability, the mobility participant must clearly describe the needs resulting from the disability that constitute costs other than standard travel and living expenses during the mobility period. Each additional cost must be justified, include an estimated amount, and indicate the source on which the calculation is based.

The decision on granting additional funding and its amount is made by the Polish National Agency for the Erasmus+ Programme.

The application must be submitted to the International Exchange Office no later than 6 weeks before the planned start of the mobility.

After the mobility period, the granted funding must be settled.

Additional funding for increased costs directly related to a disability may be granted when:

    • the disability requires special transport for the mobility participant to the destination (cost of special transport),
    • due to the disability, the participant requires support from an accompanying person (for part or the entire duration of the mobility); the stay of an accompanying person excludes the possibility of covering the costs of a local professional caregiver,
    • due to the disability, the participant requires support from a local professional caregiver,
    • special educational materials are required for the student at the host institution,
    • the disability requires special medical care during the stay abroad (costs of medical care, rehabilitation, medication, without which the mobility would not be possible),
    • the disability requires special insurance for the student (costs of special insurance),
    • the participant incurs other costs without which the mobility would not be possible (e.g. the disability certificate entitles the participant to a single room).

  • STUDENTS WITH THE RIGHT TO ASYLUM OR REFUGEE STATUS

From the KA131-2025 project onwards, students/doctoral students/recent graduates who exercise the right to asylum or hold refugee status in the territory of the Republic of Poland may apply for additional “support for persons with fewer opportunities”.

In order to apply for the additional support, it is necessary to submit a relevant declaration to the International Exchange Office and present official documents confirming the right to asylum or refugee status in the territory of the Republic of Poland for inspection.

The declaration template is available below:

GREEN TRAVEL:

*Green travel option can be chosen by students who decide to travel BOTH WAYS using low-emission means of transport such as a bus, a train or carpooling*

* Carpooling – travelling on the same route, for the same purpose, in the car with at least one co-passenger, e.g. two students from the same university travelling to the same university to study in winter semester 2026.

In the case of GREEN TRAVEL, the mobility participant may apply for the following types of funding:

  • TRAVEL COST SUPPORT

    • Students are entitled to receive a higher amount of travel support provided that they meet the “Green Travel” requirements, i.e. they use sustainable means of transport.
In such cases, they will receive a one-off travel grant, the amount of which depends on the distance between the place of departure and the destination.

The distance is calculated using the Distance Calculator developed by the European Commission, available on the Erasmus+ programme website HERE.

    • Travel grant amounts (lump sum), including “Green Travel” (bold amounts):

REMEMBER! To receive “Green Travel” funding, low-emission transport must be used for the journey both ways.

    • If you plan to travel in an environmentally friendly way and wish to apply for additional funds, submit GREEN TRAVEL APPLICATION form, and after returning from mobility, submit the required declaration GREEN TRAVEL – AFTER MOBILITY together with documents confirming the use of low-emission transport (e.g. tickets, booking confirmations, etc.).

  • TRAVEL DAYS SUPPORT

Students/doctoral students/recent graduates travelling by low-emission (sustainable) means of transport and benefiting from “Green Travel” funding may receive funding for up to 6 travel days (up to 3 days before and up to 3 days after the physical stay at the host institution).

For such mobilities, the number of granted travel days depends on the distance between the place of departure and the destination, according to the following scheme:

    • up to 999 km – a maximum of 2 travel days
    • 1000–1999 km – a maximum of 4 travel days
    • 2000 km or more – a maximum of 6 travel days

The distance between the place of departure and the destination is calculated using the Erasmus+ distance calculator developed by the European Commission.

REMEMBER! To receive “Green Travel” funding as well as funding for additional travel days, low-emission transport must be used for the journeys both ways.

If you plan to travel in an environmentally friendly way and wish to apply for additional funds, submit GREEN TRAVEL APPLICATION form. After returning from mobility, you must also submit the required declaration GREEN TRAVEL – AFTER MOBILITY together with documents confirming the use of low-emission transport (e.g. tickets, invoices, booking confirmations, accommodation invoices during the journey, etc.).
