The World’s Top 2% Scientists is an international, prestigious ranking created and published annually by Stanford University based on data from the Scopus database. The ranking identifies the best scientists whose publications are most cited by other authors around the world.

The scientific achievements were assessed according to the bibliometric index, which takes into account such criteria as: number of citations, Hirsch index, Impact Factor, position on the list of authors.

The ranking took into account 200,000 scientists from around the world: 195,605 scientists are included in the career-wide database, i.e. Top 2%, and 200,409 scientists are included in a single summary of the last year data (TOP 2% for 2021).
