On October 11, 2023 The Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi awarded the Rector of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Professor Krzysztof Kowalczyk with an honorary doctorate.
An honorary doctorate was awarded to the Rector of the University of Lublin by the Rector of the Georgian University of Technology, Prof. Davida Gurgenidze, among others: in recognition of the fruitful cooperation between our universities so far and supporting Georgian students on the international forum.
During this ceremony, an honorary title was also awarded to prof. Nikolaus Largier from the University of California, Berkeley and prof. Theo Kobush from the University of Bonn.
“Each honorary doctorate is an ambassador of the Georgian Technical University in the international academic space. Today, such outstanding scientists as Nikolaus Largier, Krzysztof Kowalczyk and Theo Kobusch have joined our ranks. I wish them success,” said David Gurgenidze.
The Georgian Technical University traces its tradition back to 1922, when the Polytechnic Faculty at Tbilisi State University was established. In 1990, it began operating as an independent higher education unit, adopting its current name. It consists of 13 faculties (including the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering and the Faculty of Mining and Geology).
