The summer school “The biostimulants and other modern solutions for the sustainable development of agriculture” took place in Nitra (Slovakia) from 9-13 October 2023. It was organised by the Partner – Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. The school was attended by 33 participants from Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. Young scientists and PhD students accounted for ¼ of the participants.

During the Summer School, all the set tasks were fulfilled. Participants took part in practical activities – 30 hours (workshops):

  • Extraction methods and standardization of biostimulants;
  • Evaluation of the chemical composition of biostimulant extracts – spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods;
  • The use of biostimulant extracts in the reduction of crop diseases caused by fungi – selection of extracts and their dosage;
  • Effect of biostimulant application on soil microorganisms – selection and dosage of preparations;
  • Phenotyping of plants – practical aspects;
