The Doctoral School of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin will host PhD Alexandros Stefanakis, associate professor from the Laboratory of Environmental Engineering & Management, School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Crete, Grece from June 3^rd to 7^th, 2024.

The event is carried out with the financial support of The City of Lublin, as part of the “Visiting Professors in Lublin Program”

INFORMATION ABOUT INVITED PROFESOR

Professor Alexandros Stefanakis is an expert on sustainable and decentralized water and wastewater management with over 15 years’ experience in the research, design, construction and operation of eco-technologies. He has implemented about 60 Constructed Wetland facilities across Europe, Middle East, Africa, USA and South America for a wide range of applications, based on the use of green technology. His professional portfolio includes the construction and operation of the world’s largest industrial constructed wetland system for oilfield wastewater management in the desert of Oman (175,000 m³/day).

Invited guest is an author of about 92 scientific papers published in international journals (h-index = 31). He is elected President of the International Ecological Engineering Society, also elected Regional Coordinator for Africa and Middle East for the Specialist Group ‘Wetlands for Water Pollution Control’ of the International Water Association and European Climate Pact Ambassador. He has been included in the list of World’s Top 2% Scientists of Stanford University (USA) for the years 2020 and 2021.
