The supervisor of this internship was lecturer and assistant of the professor at the School of Agriculture and Food Science and Earth Institute dr Angela Feechan The internship enabled the realization of the research task related to the determinate of the morphological diversity of powdery mildew of oat, consisting in the assessment of the process of penetration into plant tissues.
The aim of the visit was to learn the staining and histological analysis this pathogen with the use of a fluorescence microscope at laboratory Crops for the Future, at the Earth Institute and the School of Agriculture and Food Science, University College Dublin. During the stay, selected polish isolates with different virulence levels were tested on a set of oat powdery mildew resistance genes.
