Lublin Science Festival won the promoter of Science 2022 competition in the “Team” category! The final gala of the competition, organized for the 18th time by the Polish Press Agency, took place on December 9 in Warsaw. From among 17 finalists, the jury selected the winners in five categories (animator, scientist, team, institution, media), as well as the winner of the main prize.

The award, on behalf of the organizers of the Lublin Science Festival, was received by: Vice-Rector for Development of the University of Lublin, prof. dr hab. Adam Waśko, Vice-Rector for Students and Quality of Education, UMCS prof. dr hab. Dorota Kołodyńska and coordinator of the Lublin Science Festival dr Monika Baczewska-Ciupak.

The jury appreciated the activities of the LFN for disseminating, promoting and popularizing science and research in society.

The Lublin Science Festival is the largest cyclical event promoting science in the Lublin region and neighboring regions, and due to the number of participants it is in the top three of the largest science festivals in Poland. This cyclical event is organized by five public universities in Lublin and the City of Lublin. So far, there have been 18 editions of the Lublin Science Festival, in which participants took part in 16,566 popular science projects.

The prestigious Science Popularizer competition has been organized since 2005 by the Science in Poland service of the Polish Press Agency in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science. 17 people, teams, institutions and media representatives entered the finals of the 18th edition of the competition. Applications were evaluated by a jury composed of representatives of the scientific community and science popularizers. The jury was chaired by prof. Michał Kleiber — Vice-President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, long-term president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, former Minister of Science and Information Technology and one of the initiators of the competition.
