We are very pleased to announce that Angelika Tkaczyk-Wlizło, MSc., assistant at the Department of General and Molecular Genetics and PhD student at the Doctoral School of M.D. vet. Jowita Zwolska received funding as part of the PRELUDIUM competition organized by the National Science Center.

Angelika Tkaczyk-Wlizło, M.A. will implement the project titled: Changes in mitochondrial DNA in malignant spleen tumors in dogs – assessment of their role and diagnostic value. The financing amount is PLN 140,000. The project is supervised by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Bioeconomy, prof. Ph.D. Brygida Ślaska.

Vet medicine Jowita Zwolska for the implementation of the project entitled Research on the effect of drugs from the group of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI) on the thickness of the choroid and retina layers and on the functioning of the retina in dogs using optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and electroretinography (ERG) received PLN 139,475 as part of the competition. The PhD student’s supervisor is prof. Ph.D. Ireneusz Balicki from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
