Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear Colleagues,

We are honoured to invite you to participate in the International Congress organized by the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Bioeconomy of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin dedicated to “The Opportunities of Animal Sciences – 70 years of the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Bioeconomy”.

The aim of the Congress is to present scientific achievements in animal science and the bioeconomy. The 70th anniversary of our Faculty, which will be celebrated in 2023, provides a unique opportunity to present them. The congress itself and the accompanying events will provide not only excellent opportunities for a comprehensive presentation of scientific achievements and output but moreover for promoting scientific cooperation and increasing scientific and professional visibility.

The International Congress “Opportunities in Animal Science – 70 years of the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Bioeconomy” will be held on 17 – 19 May 2023 in a hybrid format. Participation in the Congress in both in-person and online forms is free of charge for all participants.

During the congress, poster sessions will be scheduled. All participants and speakers will receive a certificate of participation. It is also possible to publish one’s own results in the form of a chapter in a monograph. Publication of a chapter in a monograph published by the Publishing House of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, in accordance with the Communication from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, is awarded 20 points. In order to popularize and promote the presented reports, both the posters and the monograph will be published online.

  • Requirements for a monography chapter

    The text of the chapter in the monograph prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the Publishing House of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin (should be sent by 15 APRIL 2023 to the address

    Technical guidelines for the chapter in the monograph

    1. Language of the chapter in the monograph – Polish or English The length of the chapter should be a minimum of 20,000 characters with spaces (0.5 publishing sheet), a maximum of 22,000 characters with spaces. The volume of graphics (photographs, charts, etc.) is calculated assuming that 3 thousand. cm2 of graphics is 40 thousand. characters with spaces.
    2. All proposed publications will be reviewed.Obtaining a positive review is a condition for publication in this monograph.
    3. Typeface – Times New Roman – for the entire publication (text, tables, formulas, drawings and charts).The size of the basic text – 12 points, in tables and figure captions – 9 points.5 line spacing.
    4. The maximum size of tables and figures – 12.5 × 19.5 cm.
    5. Bold – used only in titles and in order to highlight important terms.Italics – Latin names and all variables (not only in formulas and graphs, but also in the text).Please do not use underscores.
    6. The electronic version of the thesis should be saved in Word.It must be accompanied by separate original files of drawings and photographs.
    7. Drawings, diagrams, charts should be submitted as a separate electronic record (source files) in programs working in the Windows environment (e.g. in Excel, Corel Draw, Photoshop).Please do not use shaded backgrounds or borders on charts.
    8. Required photo resolution – minimum 300 dpi.It is necessary to indicate the author of the photograph.
    9. Materials taken from other authors’ publications must be annotated with the source (in the case of illustrations, including photographs, the written consent of the copyright owner is required).
    10. References in the text should be given in square brackets, in chronological order, with the author’s surname and the year of publication, e.g.2001]” or “according to Lewandowski [2001a]”.
    11. The list of references should be compiled in alphabetical order.In the case of several articles published in one year of the same author, they should be marked with letters, e.g. 2015a, 2015b.

    Literature

    The bibliographic description of the book consists of: the author’s surname and first name initials, year of publication, title, abbreviated name of the publishing house (optional), place of publication, e.g.

    Greń J., Kowalski Z., 1972. Mathematical statistics. PWN, Warsaw.

    The bibliographic description of the chapter in the book should contain the page numbers of the chapter, e.g.

    Bagieńska A., 2007. Investments in the development of human capital. In: K. Pieck, E. Skrzypek (eds.), Knowledge in the farm, society and enterprises. PWE, Warsaw, 98–115.

    The bibliographic description of the article consists of: the author’s surname and first name initials, the year of publication, the title of the article, the abbreviated title of the journal with the volume or issue number, page numbers of the article, e.g.

    Chełkowski Z. (ed.), 1966. Sea trout introduction to the Gowienica river. Gosp. fish. 1(2), 18-19.

    The description of the electronic publication should include a detailed Internet address and the date of access or update, e.g.

    PZW, 2015. Brown trout hatching. Polish Angling Association, https://www.pzw.org.pl/zakrzowek [access: 4.10.2015].

    If the publication has an assigned DOI number, it must be provided, e.g.

    A new metropolitan intermodal coach terminal is currently under construction next to the main rail station. The locations of bus stops near the rail station have been temporarily changed  – see the map below.

    Suggested routes when using buses/trolleybuses:

    • Line 154: From the main railstation building walk 180 m (approx. 3 min.) to the bus stop Dworzec Gł. PKP 01 located by ul. Plac Dworcowy. Get on the line 154 (Route: Węglin), get off the bus on bus stop Wiercieńskiego 01 (if counting, it’s going to be the 4th bus stop) by ul. Głęboka. The conference location is about 450 m./ 6-minute walk from the stop. The buses arrive every 12 minutes.
    • Line 155: From the main railstation building, walk 180 m (approx. 3 min.) to the bus stop Targi Lublin 02, located by ul. Piłsudskiego. Get on the line 155 (Route: Zana ZUS), get off the bus at KUL 03 (if counting, it’s going to be the 4th bus stop) by Al. Racławickie. The conference location is about 770 m./ 10-minute walk from the stop.  The buses arrive every 14 minutes.

      Os. Poręba), get off the bus at UMCS 01 (4th stop). The conference location is about  490 m/6-minute walk from the stop. The buses arrive every 13-15 minutes.
    • Lines 18; 57: From the main bus station, walk 70 m. (approx. 1 min.) to the bus station Dworzec Gł. PKS 02 by ul. Tysiąclecia. Get on the line 18 (Route: Sławinkowska) or 57 (Route: Os. Poręba), get off the bus at KUL 03 (4th stop) by Al. Racławickie. The conference location is about 770 m/10-minute walk from the stop. The buses arrive every 7-10 minutes.
