Department of Specific Plant Cultivation

The Department research is conducted in relation to the following groups of plants:

Cereals, perennial and annual papilionaceous plants, root crops, energy plants.

Key research issues include:

  • selecting species and varieties of plants suitable for the environmental conditions of the Lublin region.
  • determining optimal seeding time and density.
  • fertilizing with macro- and micronutrients
  • using growth regulators and other agrochemicals
  • using physical factors (laser, GFE, magnetic field, microwaves) to stimulate growth, development and yield of plants and to improve their quality.

Another issue relates to the analysis of changeability and correlation of plants morphological features determining crop yield and structure.

Significant part of the research relates to the impact of habitat and agrotechnical factors on the chemical composition of crop, which determines its nutritional and fodder value.
