‘Workshop – pre-veterinary first aid for animals’ – a project by the University of Life Sciences in Lublin was one of twelve winners of a competition to promote and support academic initiatives carried out in Lublin. The total amount of funding for all projects this year is PLN 98 000.
Our Veterinary Medicine student Livia Arbatowska developed a project ‘Workshop – pre-veterinary first aid for animals’, in cooperation with the Department of Animal Anatomy and Histology at the Veterinary Medicine Faculty. It received funding in the amount of PLN 15,000.
It is a project aimed at popularising knowledge of animal first aid among the inhabitants of Lublin and the surrounding area. The initiative includes workshops and lectures in schools and universities, during which participants will learn how to react in life-threatening situations for animals, such as loss of consciousness, poisoning or fractures. Workshops led by students and volunteers will also be available in English. The venture promotes responsible animal care and healthy attitude towards animals.
