The prestigious Professor Laura Kaufman Awards have been presented!
During a ceremonial meeting of the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Bioeconomy, held on Thursday, 12 February 2026, the prestigious Dean’s Awards were presented for the first time in history – the Laura Kaufman Laurels – to the best graduate from all first- and second-cycle programmes at the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Bioeconomy.
The award was established to commemorate an outstanding figure – Professor Laura Kaufman – a respected researcher, scientific authority and a person who made a significant contribution to the development of the Faculty and the University, as well as to the education and upbringing of successive generations of students. This award is intended to honour not only the highest academic achievements, but also commitment, passion for research and an attitude worthy of emulation in the academic community.

The Golden Laurel, awarded to the best graduate of second-cycle studies, went to Marta Wnęk, MSc. She is currently a doctoral student at the ULSL Doctoral School, where she is working on her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Izabela Wilk, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor, developing her research interests and continuing her academic career with great commitment.
The Silver Laurel, awarded to the best graduate of first-cycle studies, went to Karolina Wróbel, BEng, who is successfully continuing her education in second-cycle studies in animal therapy, combining theoretical knowledge with a passion for working with animals and people.

The awards are a token of appreciation for the winners’ achievements to date, but also a symbol of trust and faith in their further academic and professional development.
We would like to congratulate both winners and wish them further success, both in their research work and in their personal lives. May this award inspire them to take on new challenges and achieve ambitious goals.
Congratulations on behalf of the academic community of the Faculty!
