The international scientific conference “Sustainable Agriculture – New Strategies for Increasing Growth and Development of Crops” was held in Urszulin, Poland, on May 14-17, 2024.
Participation in the conference was declared by 60 people from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Argentina. Young scientists including doctoral students accounted for 27% of all conference participants. The conference was opened by the Rector of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, prof. dr. hab. dr. h.c. Krzysztof Kowalczyk.
The conference addressed very important issues related to sustainable agriculture and modern agricultural production strategies. Presented in 2 plenary sessions were 6 commissioned papers:
In addition to the above-mentioned papers, participants presented 30 presentations in 6 sessions. The topics of the presentations related directly to the scope of the project and the conference theme covering the full range of the “from farm to fork” strategy. During the conference, a field session was held at the Experimental Plant for Variety Evaluation in Uhnin, during which the participants were acquainted with the tasks of the Plant and field experiments.
On the way back from the field session, the Conference Participants visited the Polish National Park and walked along the path “Oak Dominik” to the lake “Moszne” admiring the natural values of this national park. At the end of the last paper session, the conference was summarized by the Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Prof. Bartosz Solowiej, PhD.
