The University was recognised for its initiatives supporting people with special needs, promoting equal opportunities in education, creating a space free from discrimination, and fostering students’ academic, social and cultural activities.

The awards ceremony took place on 17 June 2026 in Warsaw. The University of Life Sciences in Lublin was represented by Dr hab. Urszula Kosior-Korzecka, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, and Weronika Huszcz, Chair of the University Council of the Students’ Union.

The ‘Open University’ Ranking was launched in November 2025 by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland. In its first edition, 58 higher education institutions representing different types of universities from across Poland took part.

The assessment process consisted of several stages and included an analysis of submitted documentation, surveys conducted among students, expert assessment, and verification of publicly available information and procedures in place at the participating institutions.

Only 24 higher education institutions received the Certificate and title of ‘Open University’.

We would like to thank all University units and staff members who provided the information necessary to complete the ranking questionnaire.
