Profesor Joan García is a Full Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC). He carries out interdisciplinary research on the development and improvement environmental biotechnologies that allow the treatment of wastewaters and other types of wastes. His research is currently focused on microalgae-based treatment systems and nature-based solutions. Prof. Joan García has written over 200 articles published in international scientific as well as technical journals and proceedings (h-index = 54). He is in the Stanford University ranking for the world 2% most cited authors in all career in the field of Environmental Engineering.
