In the period from September 15 to December 15, 2024, I was on a research internship at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (POL. SGGW) at the Faculty of Human Nutrition.

As part of the tasks assigned to me, I conducted a study among preschool children, which consisted of preparing survey sheets, distributing them among parents of children aged 4-6, conducting anthropometric measurements on a selected group of children and cooperation with a selected group of parents. In addition, I learned about the possibilities of developing the results of this type of research. The final effect of the joint research will be a scientific publication.

I also took part in dietary consultations for selected parents and children, and I also familiarized myself with the equipment and functioning of the anthropometric measurement and body composition analysis laboratory. The laboratory includes, among others, an electronic stadiometer, scales, anthropometric rulers, a compass for measuring shoulder and hip width, a fold gauge, dynamometers, and blood pressure monitors. The three-dimensional food pyramid with the use of real food products seemed interesting. One of the more interesting devices is the Bod Pod for measuring body composition, which resembles a capsule in its appearance. The operation of this device is based on a plethysmography system using air displacement.

During this period I also participated actively and passively in several scientific conferences, which definitely contributed to expanding my knowledge and establishing new contacts.

The internship allowed me to gain valuable experience needed for scientific development, allowed me to establish new contacts and was also an opportunity to get to know Warsaw better and visit interesting places in this city.
