Patrycja Gazda
Second Year of Studies at the Doctoral School
Discipline: Food and Nutrition Technology
University of Peloponnese, Department of Food Biochemistry
From 17/10/2024 to 30/10/2024, I had the pleasure of doing an internship abroad with the Erasmus program at the University of Peloponnese in Kalamata, in the Department of Food Biochemistry, under the supervision of Prof. John Kapolos.
During my stay in Kalamata I worked in the laboratory. Through my work in the laboratory, I enriched my practical and theoretical knowledge by determining the physicochemical properties of food, applying chromatographic techniques to food analysis, spectrometric analysis of food and evaluating the organoleptic characteristics of food. I also had the pleasure of participating in the “Great and Meet” welcome meeting with the authorities of the University of the Peloponnese, Tripoli. Within the framework of which I received a gift. During the meeting, I gave a short welcome speech.
Kalamata is a picturesque town at the southern tip of the Peloponnese. The city of Kalamata is also known for its delicious olives. It is worth noting that the olive industry is an important part of the city’s economy. Olives are not only a tasty snack, but also a symbol of Greek cuisine and culture. Their unique taste and distinctive appearance contribute to the recognition and popularity of the Kalamata region.
I spent my free time visiting the beautiful corners of the Peloponnese Peninsula. An undoubted tourist attraction was also visiting the Acropolis, the famous Corinthian Canal, the picturesque views of the Peloponean Peninsula, the charming beaches and mountain ranges.
A stay in Kalamata, Greece I will remember very well.
