Not just theory – our students visited a Confectionery Factory
First-year students of the Master’s studies in Food Technology and Human Nutrition programme had the opportunity to participate in a study visit to the Pszczółka Confectionery Factory in Lublin on 22 October 2025.

During the visit, students were able to compare the theory they had learned in their confectionery class with the industrial scale of technical and technological solutions. They learned about the operation of key production lines for products such as caramels, pralines, dragees, fruit juice jellies and chocolate-coated sweets. During the visit to the laboratory, the scope of responsibilities related to the quality control of raw materials and products, as well as methods of monitoring microbiological safety in the factory, were discussed.
The tour was led by Production Director Patryk Placek, while the University representatives were Marzena Włodarczyk-Stasiak, BEng, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor, and Izabela Podgórska-Kryszczuk, BEng, PhD.
The study visit took place as part of the project ‘Effective training of specialists for key industries’ No. FERS.01.05-IP.08-0043/23, co-financed by European Union funds.
Twenty-seven participants in the project ‘Effective training of specialists for key industries’ acquired skills and valuable practical professional experience, thanks to support from the European Social Fund Plus.
