On May 15-21, I was on a national internship at the Department of Poultry and Beekeeping at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The aim of the internship was to develop zootechnical and veterinary skills as well as to familiarize with the procedure of starting a new experiment.

During the internship, I participated in the preparation of a new experience, i.e. preparation of substrates, setting up drinkers, feeders, planning the experiment in terms of quantity and logistics. I also participated in the slaughter during which I was delegated to collect blood from turkeys. Samples taken from this slaughter will be used in studies on bone mineralization. Every day I also participated in zootechnical and care activities that were to ensure the welfare of the livestock in the ongoing experiments. I performed these activities in chicken coops belonging to the Department in Bałdy.

It was a very informative internship, enabling me to develop the skills I had so far, but also giving me a lot of new zootechnical knowledge, as well as knowledge about planning experiments.
