Dear International Students/ PhD Candidates!

🎓 Do you know your rights as an international student or PhD candidate in Poland?

What can you do when university rules are unclear? Where should you look for help if language becomes a barrier? Is it possible to adjust your study or doctoral path to challenging personal circumstances? And what scholarships, grants or other forms of financial support are available?

Join our 🌍 Academia Law Hub live webinar:

📣 Students & PhD Candidates: Know Your Rights

📅 31 August 2026
🕔 16:30 CEST
💻 Online, in English
⏱️ 60 minutes

We will focus on 4 practical areas: finding reliable information and navigating university administration; equal treatment and protection against discrimination; flexible study and doctoral pathways; and scholarships, benefits, grants and other funding opportunities.

🎙️ Our panellists bring four complementary perspectives:

Dr Aygün Kam – researcher and business professional from Türkiye who completed his doctorate in Poland. He brings first-hand experience of studying and conducting research in the Polish higher education system as an international researcher, while combining academic development with professional work and securing research funding.

Przemysław Mroczkowski – lawyer and doctoral researcher actively involved in initiatives supporting the doctoral community. He combines legal expertise with practical experience of university regulations and procedures, and will explain where to look for your rights, when to contact university administration and what to do when something does not work as it should.

Dr Dominika Korzeniowska – researcher, academic teacher and business practitioner working at the intersection of academia and professional practice. She brings the perspective of a lecturer working directly with students and will discuss the practical realities of studying, academic development and navigating the university environment.

Ignacy Waleski – doctoral researcher at the University of Lodz at the final stage of his PhD journey. He brings a practical perspective on working with university administration, handling formal requirements and making use of funding and other opportunities available to doctoral researchers.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr Adrian Gawęda from #ThinkForwardFoundation.

The goal is simple: after the webinar, participants should have a clearer map of where to look for information, whom to ask for help, how to respond when problems arise, and what support or funding may be available to them.
