Contemporary and historical Lublin – online conference for Erasmus students

On April 20, 2021, Erasmus students took part in on-line conference entitled “Contemporary and historical Lublin” prepared by a group of students of Tourism and Recreation under the supervision of dr hab. Anna Mazurek-Kusiak, prof. UP. The event aimed at integrating foreign students studying at ULSL under the Erasmus + programme into our local community.

Erasmus students were welcomed by dr hab. Bartosz Sołowiej, prof. of the University – Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation and Izabela Wolska – coordinator of the Erasmus + office They were encouraged to take active part in the conference.

The programme included, among others presentations on the history and monuments of Lublin, its tourist attractions as well as an introduction to practical tasks aimed at discovering Lublin individually using TRInO field  games (Tourist and Recreational Orientation Events). Students from Turkey, Spain, Egypt and Italy had also the opportunity to learn about Lublin legends and expand their knowledge on interesting facts about the tourist values of the city, region, country and its neighbours: Ukraine and Belarus.

Despite the restrictions caused by the pandemic we managed to support foreign Erasmus students in integration with the local environment and create at least a substitute for a real meeting by preparing a lot of interesting games, quizzes and lots of valuable facts. The event gave also Polish students an opportunity to get to know their Erasmus colleagues better thanks to the games prepared by the Professor.

In order to encourage foreign students to explore Lublin actively the organisers invited them to participate in TRInO field games. Once the results of the competition are known, the winners will be awarded accordingly.

Thank you for joining us! 🙂
