From 7.10.2024 to 5.11.2024 I had the pleasure of doing an internship at LSMU – the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, in the Department of Animal Nutrition. My supervisor was Prof. Paulius Matusevičius.

During the internship I had the opportunity to familiarize myself with the analytical methods used in the laboratory specializing in research conducted on milk. Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to observe and support the research team. I familiarized myself with the entire process that the collected milk sample goes through and with the methods used to determine various parameters. I also had the opportunity to quantitatively determine lactoferrin using the HPLC method.

Kaunas is located in the central part of Lithuania on two rivers – the Willa and the Nemunas.

The city is the second largest city in Lithuania. It is the most developed in terms of industry. It is also worth mentioning that the city has a lot of greenery and is very clean and well-maintained, which makes the stay really pleasant.

And I spent my free time getting to know the city, its history and culture. I visited the Military Museum, the City Museum located in the City Hall, the Lithuanian Aviation Museum, the Botanical Garden and the National Museum of Art. In addition, the city has many green squares, as well as temples built in different styles, which adds to the charm of this city.

I rate my stay in Kaunas very good and I definitely recommend it to everyone.
