Since 2016, the Sub-Department of Forestry Management has been operating at the Department of Industrial and Medical Plants.

Research issues of the Sub-Department of Forestry Management:

  • assessment of the dendrological and landscape value of rural parks in the Lublin region,
  • assessment of the regeneration of natural pedunculate oak in the stands of south-eastern Poland, relations between the dendrological value of parks and their aesthetic values economic and social, effects of forest management in Poland: economic efficiency of management of agricultural land not used for agricultural purposes by afforestation,
  • multifunctional management of rural areas and perspectives for the development of forest management practical issues related to the specificity of forest management,
  • functioning of forest ecosystems, including in marshy areas, issues related to forest protection and nature protection – Natura 2000 areas and forest land covered by other forms of nature protection
  • the occurrence, role and importance of fir in the region’s forests, as well as the methods of management of fir stands and firs (carried out within the framework of forest management supervision within the range of RDSF Lublin)
  • issues of wood technology in a wide range (including: assessment of wood quality, wood conservation and artistic processing)
  • research on wood coatings,
  • comparison of traditional and modern methods of preservation of the camp’s wooden architecture (including research on the state of preservation and causes of damage to 24 wooden buildings and conservation works covering one barrack in the area of the former German concentration camp at Majdanek, as well as comparison of the effectiveness of methods of detecting the state of wood – among other things CT, CT and resistivity).
