Among 142 submitted proposals, it was one of only 11 awarded projects and received funding in the amount of PLN 1,813,462.74. The project is coordinated by the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, with partner institutions from the Czech Republic, Argentina, and Slovakia. Its aim is to strengthen scientific collaboration and promote the implementation of green technologies in response to abiotic stress in agriculture. Prof. Artur Kraszkiewicz from the Department of Machine Operation and Production Processes Management has received funding of PLN 590,106 under the NAWA SPINAKER \u2013 Intensive International Education Programs scheme. The project entitled \u201cSpecialist in Agricultural and Food Engineering in the context of Green and Digital Transformation (Twin Transition)\u201d will be implemented in 2025\u20132026 and is fully financed by the European Social Fund (FERS 2021\u20132027). Its aim is to design and implement an Intensive International Education Program (IIEP), enabling students, PhD candidates, and academic staff from Poland and abroad to gain expertise in agricultural and food engineering with a&nbsp;focus on the challenges of the green and digital transformation. Prof. Gjoka is a&nbsp;specialist in the field of soil science, with research focusing on topics such as soil contamination, nutrient balance in soils, heavy metals, soil remediation, and soil erosion modeling. His work is of great importance to sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. During his visit, Prof. Gjoka delivered two seminars, covering, among other topics, agriculture in Albania, the University of Tirana, and the scope of his ongoing research. [May 31, 2025]<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"1:1-1:325\">The University of Life Sciences in Lublin has received over PLN 6.5 million in funding from European Funds for the implementation of the project &#8220;Lublin Laboratory of Biostimulators and Bioprotectants.&#8221; The project, running from June 2024 to the end of 2025, aims to create modern research and development infrastructure. The new laboratory, operating under the Faculty of Production Engineering, will focus on researching the biological activity, composition, and properties of plant-derived biostimulators and bioprotectants. This initiative seeks to foster collaboration between science and business and adapt education to the needs of the job market. The laboratory will be equipped with advanced apparatus, contributing to the development of agricultural and natural sciences and strengthening the university&#8217;s cooperation with entrepreneurs. The originator of the undertaking and author of the research agenda is Prof. S\u0142awomir Kocira. During the event, individuals particularly involved in the life of local communities were recognized. Assoc. Prof. Stanis\u0142aw Parafiniuk took second place in the Science category of the &#8220;Personality of the Lublin Voivodeship 2024&#8221; plebiscite, which awards individuals distinguished by their passion, who inspire others, and build community. Prof. Stanis\u0142aw Parafiniuk was awarded a&nbsp;&#8220;Diploma of Recognition&#8221; for his exceptional commitment and activity in promoting the scientific journal &#8220;Agricultural Engineering&#8221; on the international stage in the years 2021-2024. Meanwhile, Prof. S\u0142awomir Kocira, who is the secretary of the aforementioned journal, was awarded a&nbsp;crystal medal by the Main Board of the Polish Society of Agricultural Engineering for his enormous contribution and dedication to the development of the &#8220;In\u017cynieria Rolnicza&#8221; (English: &#8220;Agricultural Engineering&#8221;) publishing house. [February 11, 2025]<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>On January 29, 2025, Prof. S\u0142awomir Kocira, Assoc. Prof. Stanis\u0142aw Parafiniuk, and PhD Jacek Ogrodniczek appeared on the program &#8220;Nauka&#8221; (Science) on TVP 3 Lublin. The topic of their appearance was the success of scientists from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin at the 48th International Invention Show INOVA 2024. The goal is to develop innovative technologies and solutions supporting the sustainable development of agriculture and industry.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:192\">The department&#8217;s main scientific research concentrates on production process management and the operation of agricultural and eco-energy machinery and equipment. Among 142 submitted proposals, it was one of only 11 awarded projects and received funding in the amount of PLN 1,813,462.74. The project is coordinated by the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, with partner institutions from the Czech Republic, Argentina, and Slovakia. Its aim is to strengthen scientific collaboration and promote the implementation of green technologies in response to abiotic stress in agriculture.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>A research team led by Assoc. Prof. Artur Kraszkiewicz from the Department of Machine Operation and Production Processes Management has received funding of PLN 590,106 under the NAWA SPINAKER \u2013 Intensive International Education Programs scheme. However, its roots date back to 1946, when the Subdepartment of Agricultural Machinery was established at the Faculty of Agriculture in Maria Curie-Sk\u0142odowska University (UMCS). The following were the successive heads of the Department: Prof. Jacek Orzechowski (1966-1989), Prof. Kazimierz Tomaszewski (1989-1995), Prof. Mieczys\u0142aw Szpryngiel (1995-2013), Prof. J\u00f3zef Sawa (2013-2015). Since 2015, the head of the Department has been Assoc. Prof. Stanislaw Parafiniuk. Currently (April 2025), the Department employs 11 people, including two full professors, four associate professors, four doctors, and one technical specialist.<\/p>\n<p>Between 2000 and 2013, the Department produced 16 doctoral theses and awarded three professorships in agricultural sciences. One application was filed with the Patent Office, and one international patent was received. Two Polish National Center for Research and Development (NCBiR) grants and an international grant in cooperation with CRA-W in Gembloux were also received.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2006, the International Symposia &#8220;Farm Machinery and Process Management in Sustainable Agriculture&#8221; have been organized in cooperation with CRA-W Gembloux. The twelfth edition of the FMPMSA symposium was held in 2024 in Lublin.<\/p>\n<p>According to the order of the Rector of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, the Department was named the Department of Machine Operation and Production Processes Management on November 15, 2012.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Subdepartment\/Department Heads<\/strong><\/p>\n                                        <\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t                                                        <ul class=\"mn-accordion\">\n                                            <li>\n                                                <h4 class=\"mn-accordion-title\">Assoc. Prof. Stanis\u0142aw Parafiniuk \u2013 Head of the Department of Machine Operation and Production Processes Management (2015-)<\/h4>\n                                                <div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t                <p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-158253 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wip\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2023\/11\/Parafiniuk_Stanislaw.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"223\" height=\"297\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He was born on April 13, 1973 in W\u0142odawa (Poland). In the years 1988-93 he attended the Agricultural Mechanization College in Koro\u0142\u00f3wka. After graduating from the college in 1993, he began his studies at the Agricultural University in Lublin, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering. He completed these studies in 1998 with a&nbsp;master&#8217;s degree in the specialty: Organization of Production and Technical Service of Agriculture. He wrote his master&#8217;s thesis entitled &#8220;The influence of the technical and operational parameters of the Sampo combine harvester on the amount of losses during the harvesting of grain-legume mixtures&#8221; under the supervision of Prof. Mieczys\u0142aw Szpryngiel.<\/p>\n<p>After completing his studies in the same year, he began his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the Lublin Agricultural Academy. During his doctoral studies, he completed a&nbsp;one-year internship in the United States organized by The Ohio State University.<\/p>\n<p>In 2003, he received his doctorate in agricultural sciences in the field of Agricultural Engineering, specialty: Economics and Organization of Agricultural Mechanization at the Lublin Agricultural Academy. He wrote his doctoral dissertation at the Lublin Agricultural Academy under the supervision of Prof. J\u00f3zef Sawa entitled &#8220;The influence of the agricultural production system on the efficiency of mechanization in family farms.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, he received his post-doctoral degree in agricultural engineering, specialty: application of agrochemicals, based on his scientific achievements and the submitted habilitation dissertation entitled &#8220;Conversion of the results of single nozzle research to the identification of the field boom operation of a&nbsp;sprayer&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2020, he has been employed as a&nbsp;university professor.<\/p>\n<p>In 2003, he began working at the Department of Machine Operation and Management in Agricultural Engineering, at the Quality Management Department, as an assistant. He was then appointed to the position of assistant professor in 2004. On April 1, 2011, he was appointed head of the Laboratory of Agrochemical Application Techniques at the same department.<\/p>\n<p>His scientific achievements include 106 publications, 56 of which are considered original creative works. He is a&nbsp;co-author of 7 chapters in scientific monographs, a&nbsp;co-author of 5 patents, 3 utility models, and 5 industrial designs. Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences from the Warsaw Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, Building, and Electrification (IBMER) (1977). Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering &#8211; Organization and Economics of Agricultural Mechanization from the Lublin University of Life Sciences (1998). Professor of Agricultural Sciences (2004).<\/p>\n<p>Worked at the IBMER in Pozna\u0144 (1968-1978) and Lublin (1978-1990), including as Deputy Head of the Department of Agricultural Machinery Testing. Worked at the Lublin University of Life Sciences since 1991. Completed a&nbsp;one-year internship in the United States (1971-1972).<\/p>\n<p>He published over 210 papers, including 88 authored and 56 original works. Co-author of 1 textbook. Author or co-author of 5 patents. Conducted over 200 unpublished studies on qualification tests and safety of agricultural machinery operation.
