The hosts of the meeting were the researchers of the Department of Zoology:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\u00c9va Szita,<\/li>\n<li>Korn\u00e9l Ger\u0151<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This meeting was the second of three planned study visits, during which Consortium members solve problems related to the San Jos\u00e9 scale (SJS) invasive pest species occurring in the V4 region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting participants were representatives of the consortium partners: University of Life Sciences in Lublin (Poland); Biosad z.s. \u2013 Association of Fruit Growers in The Czech Republic, Research and Breeding Fruit Institute Holovousy s.r.o. (Czech Republic); Plant Protection Institute Centre HUN-REN for Agricultural Research (Hungary) and invited Balkan Partner from University of Belgrade (Serbia).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-175003\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/ogrodnictwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/10\/a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"483\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKSHOP DAY, 1 October 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the first day of the visit, which was held in the main building of HUN-REN for Agricultural Research in Martonv\u00e1s\u00e1r, issues related to the ecology of San Jos\u00e9 scale were discussed. The meeting began with a presentation by one of the local organizers, Dr. \u00c9va Szita,\u00a0 focusing on global warming and climate change related shifts in phenological and distribution patterns of SJS in Europe, mainly int he territories of Visegrad 4 countries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-175007\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/ogrodnictwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/10\/b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"544\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-175011\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/ogrodnictwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/10\/c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"544\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the study visit, members of the Consortium continued working on topics on\u00a0 San Jos\u00e9 scale (SJS), which is one of the most dangeouros invasive pest species in the V4 region.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-175015\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/ogrodnictwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/10\/d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"544\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During this meeting, an important part of the visit was an exchange of knowledge and discussion on topics related to SJS, its importance and management methods in the V4 region. Activities were focused on related to the development of the \u201cPractical guide for monitoring and management of SJS in the V4 region\u201d. During the meeting, key issues related to the implementation of the project were also discussed and a schedule of subsequent meetings of the project participants was established.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of the theoretical part of the meeting, Ph.D. Izabela Kot, Assoc. During this trip, three orchards were visited.
