Lublin NAWA-EURAXESS Networkto participate in the urban workshop from the series \u201cAcademic Walks with the Nature of Poland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-557703\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2026-ilustracja-strona-web-1500px-37.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"938\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location: <\/strong>Lublin<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> July 28, 2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructors: <\/strong>mgr in\u017c. <strong>Kamila Kaszycka<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>About the workshop:<\/h3>\n<p>This interactive outdoor workshop aims to help participants understand how dogs perceive and experience urban environments.<\/p>\n<h3>During the guided walk, participants will learn about:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>interpreting canine body language,<\/li>\n<li>recognising communication signals and signs of stress,<\/li>\n<li>the importance of environmental exploration during walks and the factors that influence canine welfare in urban settings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The workshop also covers the principles of responsible dog ownership, the characteristics of dog-friendly urban spaces, and examples of good practices from different countries. Participants will discuss how cities can better support the welfare of companion animals.<\/p>\n<h3>Workshop programme:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>16:00 <\/strong>\u2013 Welcome, introduction to the workshop, and safety information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16:10 <\/strong>\u2013 How dogs perceive the urban environment: canine senses, communication, and behaviour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16:30 <\/strong>\u2013 Guided walk: observing urban spaces from a&nbsp;dog&#8217;s perspective.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16:55 <\/strong>\u2013 Interactive activities: interpreting canine body language, recognising stress and calming signals, and discussing the most common challenges dogs face in urban environments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>17:20 \u2013 <\/strong>What makes a&nbsp;city dog-friendly? Discussion on urban design, responsible dog ownership, and examples of good practices from different countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>17:40 <\/strong>\u2013 Questions, discussion, and workshop summary.<\/p>\n<h3>Registration:<\/h3>\n<p>We invite academic staff employed at one of the partner universities listed below, as well as doctoral students enrolled in doctoral schools operating at these universities, to participate in the workshops.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maria Curie-Sk\u0142odowska University<\/li>\n<li>University of Life Sciences in Lublin<\/li>\n<li>John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin<\/li>\n<li>Lublin University of Technology<\/li>\n<li>Medical University of Lublin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you would like to participate in the workshop, please complete the registration <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.cloud.microsoft\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=HLKj2lICKUm8ZlqzHoIn4RN4AdRrRldJiCpCjxQXYdZUNTRNVTZWUFJTQVBPQlJFVTVCRzFLOFRNQS4u\">form<\/a> by <strong>20<sup>th<\/sup> July 2026<\/strong>. The aim of the workshop is to combine natural sciences popularisation with intercultural integration.
