From June 12 to June 22, 2026, I completed an internship under the Erasmus+ program. The purpose of the trip was Transilvania University of Brasov in Romania, where I worked on the following topic: “Analysis of selected compounds from the group of 1,3,4-thiadiazoles and coumarinins using surface plasmon resonance.” The choice of a given place was related to many years of cooperation with a given university.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The internship was supervised by Professor Monica Florescu, who discussed the operation and work with the SPR technique, and also helped prepare appropriate samples for testing – Photo 1. I performed measurements of selected compounds from the groups of 1,3,4-thiadiazoles, coumarins and thiadiazole-coumarin hybrids using surface plasmon resonance, mainly in solvent systems, i.e. in environments with variable polarity. I communicated with both the Professor and her entire team in English, which enabled me to develop my language skills. I completed my internship at the Department of Basic, Preventive and Clinical Disciplines, which belongs to the Faculty of Medicine – Photo 2. The entire University has many buildings, including those belonging to individual faculties, organizational structures, including the rector’s office, and dormitories – Photo 3.<\/p>\n

Due to Romania’s location in a different time zone, the clocks show +1 hour for Polish time. The applicable currency is the Romanian leu, the exchange rate of which is around PLN 1. There are two ways to get to Brasov. The first is by car, which takes about 15 hours. The second option I chose is traveling by plane. The flight lasts just over an hour and its route is Warsaw (WAW) \u2013 Brasov (GHV). The entire journey, starting in Lublin and ending in Brasov, lasted 6 hours. I got to my rented apartment from the airport by taxi. The apartment was located about 1 km from the city center. I walked to the University – it was about 1.5 km. The quality of life in Brasov is at a good level, but it offers many tourist attractions that attract a large number of foreign guests – Photos 4-5. Prices are comparable to Polish prices, both in shops and restaurants.<\/p>\n
