From November 15, 2024, to December 15, 2024, I completed a research internship at the University of South Bohemia in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice, Department of Agroecosystems, Faculty of Agriculture and Technology in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice, Czech Republic. My supervisor was Mr. Nghia Trong Hoang, a PhD student from the Department of Agroecosystems at the University of South Bohemia in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice. His scientific interests include agriculture, crop production, greenhouse gas emissions, and sustainable agriculture. The person who hosted me during the internship was Professor Petr Konvalina, head of the Department of Agroecosystems at the University of South Bohemia in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice. He is a renowned scientist in the field of cropping systems and plant production.<\/p>\n

The goal of the trip was to broaden my knowledge in the fields of plant cultivation techniques, fertilization, and soil and seed analysis. The internship allowed me to gain expertise in laboratory analysis and acquire many new skills. At the university’s laboratories, different types of seeds and soil are studied.<\/p>\n

As part of the internship, a study trip was organized to the aquaponic house, which is located on the university’s campus. We were shown how the food production system works, combining aquaculture (the cultivation of aquatic animals such as fish) in tanks with hydroponics (growing plants in water). The nutrient-rich water from the aquaculture system is provided to the hydroponically grown plants.<\/p>\n

In addition to the scientific part of the internship, I had the opportunity to explore the Czech Republic and try local dishes. While strolling through the picturesque Old Town of \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice, I admired the historical buildings and enjoyed the unique atmosphere of the place. Additionally, I had the chance to participate in the Christmas market. The festive atmosphere, filled with the glow of lights and colorful decorations, made a huge impression on me.<\/p>\n

During the internship, I visited \u010cesk\u00fd Krumlov and Hlubok\u00e1, which left a lasting impression on me. \u010cesk\u00fd Krumlov captivated me with its historic character, particularly the picturesque castle with a view of the charming town. In Hlubok\u00e1, I admired the majestic castle surrounded by beautiful gardens.<\/p>\n

During the internship, I also had the opportunity to visit Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. I walked through the charming Old Town, admired the famous Charles Bridge, and the picturesque buildings. I was also struck by the monumental St. Vitus Cathedral and the Castle in Hrad\u010dany, which offer unforgettable views of the city. This visit allowed me to learn more about the culture and history of this extraordinary place.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, the internship at this institution was a valuable experience that significantly contributed to my development. I gained new practical skills that helped me better understand the theoretical aspects of my field. Thanks to working in an international environment, I had the opportunity to improve my communication and organizational skills, which increased my self-confidence and ability to work in a team. Additionally, I had the chance to become familiar with local traditions and culture and visit extraordinary places.<\/p>\n
