From November 15, 2024, to December 15, 2024, I completed a scientific internship at the University of South Bohemia in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice, Department of Agroecosystems, Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice, Czech Republic. My supervisor was Mr. Nghia Trong Hoang, a doctoral student from the Department of Agroecosystems at the University of South Bohemia in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice. His research interests include agriculture, plant production, greenhouse gas emissions, and sustainable agriculture. The person who hosted me for the internship was Prof. Dr. Hab. Ing. Petr Konvalina, the head of the Department of Agroecosystems at the University of South Bohemia in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice. He is a renowned scientist in the field of crop systems and plant production.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>University Campus.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the visit was to expand my knowledge of oilseed rape cultivation methods, cultivation techniques, and the associated gas emissions. The university\u2019s laboratories focus on the analysis of various types of seeds and soil research. The internship allowed me to gain knowledge in the laboratory analysis of oilseed rape and wheat seeds and acquire many new skills. A lecture on greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and cultivation techniques was prepared at the university, which enabled me to broaden my knowledge.<\/p>\n

During the internship, a visit was organized to the aquaponic house located on the university campus. The functioning of the system, combining aquaculture (the breeding of aquatic animals, such as fish) with hydroponics (a method of growing plants in water), was demonstrated. In this integrated solution, water enriched with nutrients from fish farming is directed to hydroponically grown plants, creating a sustainable model of food production.<\/p>\n

Apart from the scientific part of the internship, I had the opportunity to explore the Czech Republic and try local dishes. During the internship, I visited \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice, the city where the university is located. I walked through its charming old town, full of historical buildings. I also had the opportunity to visit the Christmas market in \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice, located in the beautifully decorated town square. I was enchanted by the Christmas atmosphere, full of lights, decorations, and local delicacies.<\/p>\n

I also visited \u010cesk\u00fd Krumlov and Hlubok\u00e1 during the internship. In \u010cesk\u00fd Krumlov, I was captivated by the picturesque old town and the majestic castle, which offered breathtaking views. In Hlubok\u00e1, I admired the fairy-tale castle surrounded by beautiful gardens, making both trips an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n

During my internship at the University of South Bohemia, I also had the chance to visit Prague. I toured its historic monuments, picturesque streets, and immersed myself in the unique atmosphere of the city. I was also impressed by the magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral and Prague Castle, whose majesty and history left me in awe. A memorable experience was visiting the Christmas market, where I admired the Christmas decorations.<\/p>\n

In summary, the internship provided me with valuable experience both in terms of scientific and cultural knowledge. Working in an international environment allowed me to not only expand my theoretical knowledge but also gain practical skills. Additionally, the internship enabled me to establish new contacts and improve my communication skills, which will certainly help me in the future. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to learn about local culture and traditions and visit exceptional places.<\/p>\n
