Grzegorz Zaj\u0105c, Associate professor<br \/><\/strong>Discipline: mechanical engineering<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project title:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDesign and implementation of a&nbsp;burner enabling the combustion of biomass and fossil fuels that meets new European exhaust emission standards using simulation of flow and heat parameters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The project is financed by the Ministry of Science and Education from the \u201cImplementation Doctorate\u201d program.<\/p>\n<p>The entity cooperating in the implementation of the project is ZPH Krzaczek Sp. z&nbsp;o.o. (Klikawa).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description and potential results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the doctoral thesis is to design and implement a&nbsp;burner that allows for the combustion of biomass in various forms and fossil fuels, while at the same time meeting new exhaust emission standards, will be carried out using CFD numerical simulation. This will allow for the analysis and optimization of burner parameters, such as geometry, amount of air, fuel-air mixture composition, air and exhaust gas flow rate and temperature, which allows for efficient and clean combustion. The research carried out will allow for the development of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The results of combustion of various fuels under the same conditions will enable the expansion of databases of such programs. Carrying out exhaust emission tests of reference solid fuels will allow for the creation of a&nbsp;database of parameters such as: CO, CO2, NOx and dust emissions, amount of fuel supplied, amount of air supplied, chimney draft, exhaust gas temperature, furnace and combustion chamber temperature. They will be used to create a&nbsp;control algorithm for the fuel specified in the controller. They will be a&nbsp;model for computer programs using computational fluid dynamics because they provide a&nbsp;lot of data on exhaust emissions, temperature in various critical places of the furnace.
