\u2018Merry Christmas\u2019 \u2013 exchanging Christmas and New Year\u2019s traditions<\/h2>\n

Christmas event \u2018Merry Christmas \u2013 exchanging Christmas and New Year\u2019s traditions\u2019 took place in the AGRO II building, on 6 December 2024. Numerous visitors, among them international students, including those coming as part of the Erasmus+ programme, were able to take part in a Christmas fair or taste Christmas tea and hot chocolate. There were also Christmas photo shoots by the Student Photography Academy, the singing of Christmas carols and the dressing of the Christmas tree.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"The event was opened with a short speech by the Vice-Rector for Students Affairs and Didactics, Urszula Kosior-Korzecka<\/strong>, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor and the Head of the Admissions and Promotion Department, Agnieszka Wasilak<\/strong>, MA. The official opening was crowned by the symbolic switching on of the lights on the university’s Christmas tree.<\/p>\n

Our guests learned about the Christmas traditions of the various countries represented by our international students. In the meantime, the Christmas workshops began, during which the students were able to improve their handicrafts, create decorations and Christmas cards, but also taste traditional Christmas dishes and integrate with the academic community.<\/p>\n

\"\"Two Christmas competitions were held:<\/p>\n

\u2018Show us your Christmas and New Year’s customs\u2019, in which our Veterinary Medicine (English Division) students presented themselves:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Daniel Dolan<\/strong> and Clodagh O\u2019Connor<\/strong> from Ireland<\/p>\n

\u2013 Kutlo Van Ooteghem<\/strong> from Belgium<\/p>\n

\u2013 Julia Rozdoba<\/strong> from Great Britain \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2013 Ka Lee Ip<\/strong> from Hong Kong<\/p>\n

\u2013 Sude Kosucuoglu<\/strong> from Turkey<\/p>\n

\u2013 Madhav Santhosh<\/strong> from India<\/p>\n

\u2018Ugliest Christmas Sweater\u2019 competition was won by third-year animal therapy and animal care student Karolina Wr\u00f3bel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Our visitors were able to buy ornaments, handicrafts, but also Christmas treats at the Christmas fair. The stands were exhibited by:<\/p>\n

\"\"Students\u2018 Spatial Management Study Group, Students\u2019 Tourist and Sightseeing Study Group, Students\u2018 Gastronomy Study Group \u201cGastronauts\u201d, Students\u2019 Food Technology Study Group, Students\u2018 Nutritionists and Psychodietitians Study Group, Students\u2019 Food Analysts Study Group, EQUATOR Surveying Study Group, Herba medica Interdepartmental Study Group, Students\u2018 Scientific Group of Foresters, Students\u2019 Scientific Group of Landscape Architecture, Students\u2018 Scientific Group of Gardeners, Students\u2019 Scientific Group of Zoologists, Students\u2018 Scientific Group of Biologists (Biocosmetologists section), Students\u2019 Academy of Photography, ,Jawor\u2019 Song and Dance Ensemble, Academic Sports Association, University of Life Sciences in Lublin Academic Choir, Students’ Self-Government Council.<\/p>\n

During the event, iconic gingerbread cookies with the logo of ULSL were waiting for the festively dressed students and staff.<\/p>\n

The event was realised with the financial support of the Lublin Municipality, as part of the Lublin Academic Programme. The part of event dedicated for foreign students was realised with funds from the Erasmus+ programme.<\/p>\n
