<\/strong>PLANT PROTECTION INSTITUTE CENTRE FOR AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH HUN-REN, <\/strong>HUNGARY<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The 2nd study visit within the “QKIS (Quadraspidiotus Knowledge Information System) network” project will take place at the Plant Protection Institute Centre for Agricultural Research HUN-REN (Hungary) on October 1-2, 2024.<\/p>\n

Representatives from Association of University of Life Sciences in Lublin (Poland), Research and Breeding Fruit Institute Holovousy S.R.O. (Vsuo) (Czech Republic), Fruit Growers of the Czech Republic Biosad z.s. (Czech Republic) and partners from the University of Belgrade (Serbia) will take a part in the study visit as the members of the project consortium. The hosts of the meeting will be: \u00c9va Szita i Gero Kornel from the Institute of Plant Protection, Agricultural Research Centre (Hungary).<\/p>\n

WORKSHOP-DAY <\/strong><\/p>\n

During the study visit, members of the Consortium will continue working on invasive pest species \u2013 the San Jos\u00e9 scale (SJS). During this meeting, issues related to the ecology of San Jos\u00e9 scale \u2013 climate warming and changes in distribution pattern of SJS will be discussed. An important part of the visit will be discussion on management practices against San Jos\u00e9 scale in Hungary and work on the management of this scale insect in the V4 region.<\/p>\n

NETWORKING-DAY <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Consortium Partners will Visit Agroverzum, the permanent interactive museum of the Centre for Agricultural Research on wide range of topics in agriculture related sciences.<\/p>\n

They will also take part in field trips to fruit farms, where they will have the opportunity to collect plant material infested by the San Jos\u00e9 Scale for analysis and discussion with growers.<\/p>\n

One of the goals of the study visit is to exchange the knowledge and experiences between Project Partners and work on the “Practical guide on SJS monitoring and management in V4 region\u201d. This will be used to create future recommendation for fruit producers and other stakeholders on the SJS management.<\/strong><\/p>\n
