International Scientific Symposium Farm Machinery and Processes Management in Sustainable Agriculture \u2013 FMPMSA<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The twelfth International Scientific Symposium on Farm Machinery and Processes Management in Sustainable Agriculture (FMPMSA) was held on 12-14 June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the first day, the sessions were held in the building of the Faculty of Production Engineering at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. On the next day, a break-out session was organised \u2013 this time at one of Europe’s most modern beverage can factories \u2013 Ball Packaging Europe Lublin Ltd. The third day was devoted to a study trip, during which the participants became acquainted with the ULSL Experimental Farm in Czeslawice, the activities of the Pustelnia Fishing Inn in Wola Rudzka and the loess ravines in Kazimierz Dolny. The trip ended at the castle in Janowiec.<\/p>\n

\"zdj\u0119cieMore than 80 people from 16 countries registered for the symposium; 55 papers were presented. The topics of the papers presented included issues of process and technical sustainability in the area of agriculture and agri-food economy.<\/p>\n

A significant contribution to the organisation of the symposium was made by Ball Packaging Europe Lublin Ltd. Paper sessions were held on the factory premises. In between the sessions, participants visited the production lines of this state-of-the-art factory of the Ball Packaging concern.<\/p>\n

The symposium was organised by the Department of Machine Operation and Production Process Management of the Production Engineering Faculty of the ULSL together with the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre of Gembloux, Belgium, and the Lublin Branch of the Polish Society of Agricultural Engineering. On the scientific side, EurAgEng (European Society of Agricultural Engineers) patronised these activities. The symposia have been held since 1994. They have been organised abroad three times \u2013 twice in Gembloux and once in Bari.<\/p>\n

The symposium was held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of ULSL Krzysztof Kowalczyk, PhD DSc, ProfTit as well as the honorary patronage of the Marshall of the Lublin Voivodeship Jaroslaw Stawiarski and the Mayor of the City of Lublin Krzysztof Zuk, PhD.<\/p>\n

The symposium would not have taken place if it had not been for the support of companies and authorities that have been cooperating with the Department of Machine Operation and Production Process Management for many years. These were: Agroplast Marcin Lopag; Gravit Ltd.; Kuhn-Maszyny Rolnicze Ltd; Noyen Ltd; Raiffeisen Waren Ltd; Rolniczy Przeglad Techniczny \u2013 Publishing House APRA; Same Deutz-Fahr Polska Ltd and Traktor 24.pl as well as the Marshal’s Office of the Lublin Voivodeship.<\/p>\n
