The opening was also attended by: a&nbsp;representative of the Lublin City Hall, Dr. Eng. Mariusz Sagan and the Chairman of the National Representation of Doctoral Students, pilot Micha\u0142 Klimczyk.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4815.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335447 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4815.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The inaugural lectures were delivered by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Todor Vasiljevic (College of Health and Biomedicine Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia) entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/conference-doctoral.up.lublin.pl\/2023-volume\/icdsupl2-ol001\/\">&#8220;Structure, function and relationship of Proteins \u2013 Current Research Direction&#8221;<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ph.D. Viktor Korzun (Global Lead Scientific Affairs, KWS SAAT SE &amp; Co. KGaA, Germany) entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/conference-doctoral.up.lublin.pl\/2023-volume\/icdsupl2-ol002\/\">&#8220;Public-Private-Partnership in plant research and plant breeding&#8221;<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Laura Wendling (VTT Technical Research Center of Finland LTD, Finland) entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/conference-doctoral.up.lublin.pl\/2023-volume\/icdsupl2-ol003\/\">&#8220;The role of nature-based solutions within Europe\u2019s green transition\u201d<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4849.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335451 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4849.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The event was honored with an artistic performance by the band Klasyczni w&nbsp;Rocku, composed of employees of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. The surprise was the performance of the vocal duo of Ph.D. Bartosz So\u0142owiej, Assoc. prof. &#8211; Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation and prof. Ph.D. Katarzyna Ognik \u2013 Director of the Doctoral School.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4893.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335458 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4893.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4990.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335462 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4990.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4991-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-336267 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4991-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4946.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335495 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4946.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>During the conference, a&nbsp;competition was organized entitled: &#8220;Greenwashing &#8211; a&nbsp;threat to ecology?&#8221;, which was assessed by a&nbsp;group of experts and selected the winners:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st place \u2013 Sebastian Ku\u015bmierz<\/li>\n<li>2nd place \u2013 Marcin Kondracki<\/li>\n<li>3rd place \u2013 Aleksandra Marzec<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Honorable mentions \u2013 Rados\u0142aw Smagie\u0142 and Robert Waraczewski<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_6919.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335483 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_6919.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_6957.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335487 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_6957.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>About 400 people participated in the conference.<\/p>\n<p>The conference participants represented the following countries: Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Angola, Finland, Germany, Australia, Serbia, Iraq, Portugal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4798.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335491 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_4798.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Doctoral students presented scientific research in six thematic sessions: Animal Sciences, Plant Sciences, Food Technology, Environment, Technology, Basic Sciences and Health Sciences.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_5126.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-335658 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC_5126.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awards for the best presentations in individual sections went to: Michalina Pinkosz (Basic Sciences and Health Sciences session), Krzysztof Stawrakakis (Plant Sciences session), \u00c1lvarez Ana (Environment session), Grigaleviciute Ramune (Animal Science session), Trendak Micha\u0142 (Technology session), Vasiliauskaite Agne (Food Technology session).<\/p>\n<p>Prizes for the most interesting presentation of research in the form of posters went to: Abdualhamid Alsharif, Weronika Giedroj\u0107, Kamila Janicka, while distinctions went to: Lebednikaite Egle, \u0141ukasz Szyma\u0144ski and Wiktoria Janicka.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Ph.D. Bartosz So\u0142owiej, Assoc. prof. together with the Director of the Doctoral School prof. Ph.D. Katarzyna Ognik, distinguished 11 doctoral students of the Doctoral School of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. Congratulatory letters with gifts were received by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>for scientific activities: Partycja Skowronek, Wiktoria Janicka, Krzysztof Kowal, Artur Ciszewski, Micha\u0142 Arciszewski, Maciej Bry\u015b, Sebastian Ku\u015bmierz;<\/li>\n<li>for organizational and charitable activities: Karolina R\u00f3\u017caniecka, Aleksandra Garbacz, Katarzyna Matyszczuk, Kostiantyn Vasiukov.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Doctoral students of the Doctoral School in Lublin expressed their thanks for the overall cooperation and support in the implementation of education and organization of the conference: Ph.D. Bartosz So\u0142owiej, Assoc. prof., prof. Eng. Micha\u0142 Klimczyk and the Ombudsman for Doctoral Students&#8217; Rights, pr. Wojciech Kie\u0142basi\u0144ski, which concerned, among others, rights and obligations of a&nbsp;doctoral student.
