\u00a0\u201cA polyphenolic composition for use in the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases support and treatment, particularly Alzheimer’s\u201d an agreement under this title transferring the right to a joint invention of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and the Medical University of Lublin, was signed at the Medical University of Lublin on 28 March 2023. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The authors of the invention are: Prof. Dominik Szwajgier<\/strong>, PhD, Head of the Laboratory of Organic Food of Plant Origin, Kamila Borowiec<\/strong>, PhD, from the Department of Biotechnology, Microbiology and Human Nutrition of the Faculty of Food Sciences and Biotechnology at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and Prof. Anna Bogucka-Kocka<\/strong>, PhD, from the Department of Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Lublin.<\/p>\n

At the same time, an agreement was signed on the transfer of rights to a joint patent application filed by the Lublin University of Life Sciences, the Medical University of Lublin and Invent Farm Private Limited Company, entitled “Method of obtaining a gel preparation with slowed release polyphenolic compounds”, whose co-authors are Prof. Dominik Szwajgier, PhD, Head of the Laboratory of Organic Food of Plant Origin, Ewa Baranowska-W\u00f3jcik<\/strong>, PhD, from the Department of Biotechnology, Microbiology and Human Nutrition of the Faculty of Food Sciences and Biotechnology, Prof. Anna Bogucka-Kocka, PhD, and Przemys\u0142aw Ko\u0142odziej<\/strong>, PhD, from the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology. Przemys\u0142aw Ko\u0142odziej, Associate prof. from the Department of Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Lublin, and Marek Koczubik<\/strong>, President of the Management Board of Invent Farm PLC.<\/p>\n

The purchaser of both property rights is Invent Farm PLC \u2013 a manufacturer of dietary supplements. The agreement was signed on behalf of the company by Marek Koczubik, President of the Management Board, and Katarzyna Krzos<\/strong>, M.Sc. proxy, Director of Logistics and Administration at Invent Farm PLC, also attended the meeting.<\/p>\n

The agreements were signed on behalf of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin by the Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Kowalczyk<\/strong>, PhD, and on behalf of the Medical University of Lublin by the Rector, Prof. Wojciech Za\u0142uska<\/strong>, MD, PhD.<\/p>\n

Both inventions being the subject of sales agreements, together with the associated know-how, form a coherent complex and are the result of many years of cooperation between researchers from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, the Medical University of Lublin and Invent Farm PLC. The material obtained on their basis has great implementation potential and is a promising candidate for the production of new preparations used in the prevention and support of neurodegenerative diseases treatment, particularly Alzheimer’s disease.<\/p>\n
