\u201eAction has been funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the STER programme\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>The aim of activity is to organize stationary lectures and workshops conducted by\u00a0 outstanding teachers and scientists from\u00a0 foreign universities and research centers. It is planned to invite outstanding personalities from the world of science whose activities will contribute to the internationalization of academic community, including scientific research and promotion of\u00a0 science among PhD students. It is planned that six teachers from European and non-European countries will visit\u00a0 Doctoral School of ULS. At least 3 days of the visit should be devoted to the following activities (8 hours in total):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Conducting stationary classes in English with PhD students on:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>research skills (e.g. methodology of conducting scientific research, writing and reviewing scientific articles, applying for research grants, R&amp;D research) &#8211; 4h;<\/li>\n<li>research topics carried out by the guest &#8211; 2h.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Open public lecture addressed to the University\u2019 community on topics proposed by the guest and agreed with the Doctoral School Staff &#8211; 1h.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting with the management and teaching staff of the Doctoral School \u2013 1h.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Additional conditions: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The visit must be addressed to all the PhD students of the Doctoral School of UPL but individual topics may be addressed to the selected group of PhD students (from a&nbsp;given years of education and \/ or representing given disciplines).<\/li>\n<li>Teaching activities will be held as part of seminars being the part of the education program or may be planned independently of them.<\/li>\n<li>For the detailed schedule of the visit, in consultation with the Doctoral School Staff, are responsibility persons indicated in the application documents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n                                                <\/div>\n                                            <\/li>\n                                        <\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t                                                        <ul class=\"mn-accordion\">\n                                            <li>\n                                                <h4 class=\"mn-accordion-title\">Financing terms<\/h4>\n                                                <div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t                <p><strong>As part of the NAWA STER project &#8220;Actions towards the internationalization of the Doctoral School of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin (I-SDUPL)&#8221;, the following costs of the visit to the &#8220;School of Excellence&#8221; will be covered:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha\">\n<li>Travel costs from the place of the work to Lublin (reimbursement based on invoices and bills):<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>in the case of European visits &#8211; PLN 3,000\/EUR 647*;<\/li>\n<li>in the case of outside Europe visits &#8211; max. PLN 7,000\/EUR 1,510*.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Accommodation costs in Lublin (hotel indicated by the Doctoral School):<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>in the case of European visits &#8211; four nights;<\/li>\n<li>in the case of outside Europe visits &#8211; six nights;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha\" start=\"3\">\n<li>Food expenses (reimbursement based on invoices and bills):<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>in the case of European visits (5-days) &#8211; max. The description should include:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>basic information about the candidate (name, surname, academic title, affiliation);<\/li>\n<li>information about candidate\u2019 scientific and professional career;<\/li>\n<li>scope of candidate\u2019 research interests in points \u2013 max. 2000 characters with spaces;<\/li>\n<li>list of scientific achievements &#8211; maximum 10 achievements (e.g. projects, publications, implementations, awards);<\/li>\n<li>bibliometric index (e.g. h-index, number of citations);<\/li>\n<li>information about teaching experience along with information whether the candidate conducted classes with PhD students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>The <strong>Annex 1<\/strong> completed in English and signed by the candidate containing the following information:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>the candidate&#8217;s affiliation with a&nbsp;given scientific discipline\/disciplines;<\/li>\n<li>preliminary acceptance of the visit to the Doctoral School of UPL;<\/li>\n<li>possible date(s) of the visit;<\/li>\n<li>proposed topics of activities during the visit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>A list of persons responsible for contact with the candidate for the &#8220;School of Excellence&#8221; and for taking care of her\/him during the visit, including:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>details of the PhD student(s) submitting the candidacy (name, surname, year of education, scientific discipline(s), affiliation, contact details);<\/li>\n<li>details of at least one employee of University of Life Sciences in Lublin (title, name, surname, affiliation, function, contact details).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/up.lublin.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Annex-1_SE.docx\">Annex 1 (.docx)<\/a><\/p>\n                                                <\/div>\n                                            <\/li>\n                                        <\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t                                                        <ul class=\"mn-accordion\">\n                                            <li>\n                                                <h4 class=\"mn-accordion-title\">Rules for presenting candidates and voting<\/h4>\n                                                <div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t                <p><strong>Rules for presenting the profiles of candidates for the &#8220;School of Excellence&#8221; and voting for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The profile of a&nbsp;candidate for the &#8220;School of Excellence&#8221; is presented by the PhD student(s) submitting a&nbsp;given candidacy during the meeting organized in a&nbsp;hybrid format by the Doctoral School Office.<\/li>\n<li>The PhD student(s) present the profile using a&nbsp;multimedia presentation (text in identical Polish and English versions, max. 15 slides) being the part of the application documents, extended with information regarding the candidate&#8217;s affiliation to a&nbsp;given discipline(s) scientific, possible dates of the visit and proposed topics of activities during the visit. The language of presentation may be Polish or English indicated for each call by the Director of Doctoral School.<\/li>\n<li>The Doctoral School Office determines the order of presentations, about which it informs the speakers in advance; the meeting is moderated by a&nbsp;person indicated by the Director of the Doctoral School.<\/li>\n<li>All PhD students of the Doctoral School of UPL can participate in the meeting.<\/li>\n<li>As observers may participate in the meeting: employees of UPL, including supervisors, chairmen of disciplines or persons indicated by them, persons declaring their willingness to take care of the candidate during her\/his visit; and the management and administrative staff of the Doctoral School.<\/li>\n<li>All PhD students of the Doctoral School of UPL have the right to vote (regardless of the scientific discipline(s) they represent).<\/li>\n<li>Voting is secret in the relative majority system.<\/li>\n<li>The voting is coordinated by the Doctoral School Office.<\/li>\n<li>A PhD student may cast one vote for one candidate for the &#8220;School of Excellence&#8221; from Europe and one vote for a&nbsp;candidate from outside Europe.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The winners of the &#8220;School of Excellence&#8221; in a&nbsp;given call are two candidates &#8211; one from Europe and one from outside Europe with the highest number of votes.<\/li>\n<li>If the candidates receive the same number of votes, the winner is the person with higher bibliographic indicators &#8211; the final decision is made by the Director of the Doctoral School.<\/li>\n<li>If there are no candidates from outside Europe, PhD students will be able to choose a&nbsp;candidate from Europe instead, in accordance with the voting procedure as in points 6-8 and 11.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n                                                <\/div>\n
