Laura Kaufman Didactic and Research Station of Small Animals<\/h3>\n\t\t
\n\t\t\t

In the facility, there are hens kept of such breeds as Green-legged Partridge (Zk) and Polbar (Pb) – both covered by the genetic resources protection programme. Additionally, there are also crested chickens (Polish: czubatka dworska) and six families of Japanese quail. Green-legged Partridge has a trademark owned by the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and the Experimental Station of Zootechnics Institute\u00a0in\u00a0Chorzel\u00f3w. The active populations of maintained birds are approximately 1200 individuals. Their history dates back to the 40s of the previous century – in the case of the Zk family and to the 50s – in the case of the autosexing Pb breed, which was created by prof. Laura Kaufman – the first manager of the Department of Genetics and Animal Breeding at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. In the research station, there are classes conducted for students of various fields of study. The birds are also an excellent experimental base for the employees of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and for other research centres dealing with poultry. In 2019, modernisation works of the research station began.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Didactic and Research Station in Sosnowica<\/h3>\n\t\t
\n\t\t\t

The area of the station is 23.2 ha (permanent grassland – 19 ha, forest complex – 1.81 ha and didactic and research base). The meadow complex is part of the nature protection area Natura 2000, the Parczew Forests PLB060006.<\/p>\n

In the central part of the research station, there is a lysimeter station and an automatic weather station. In the meadows, there is a barn equipped with solar panels and special blowers for drying hay.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Alfred Lity\u0144ski Hydrobiological Didactic and Research Station<\/h3>\n\t\t
\n\t\t\t

The station is supervised by the Department of Hydrobiology and Protection of Ecosystems and the Department of Zoology and Animal Ecology of the Faculty of Environmental Biology. It is located by lake Piaseczno (Rozp\u0142ucie-Grab\u00f3w, \u0141\u0119czy\u0144sko-W\u0142odawskie Lake District). There is a laboratory for biological and chemical analyses of water and the bottom sediments in the research station. There is also basic equipment for hydrobiological research (boats, rafting boats, apparatus for field analysis, experimental pens).<\/p>\n

There is also a centre of plant acclimatisation and a research centre on the population of Salix lapponum and Salix myrtilloides as part of the restitution programme of those species in the area of the Poleski National Park and the Knyszyn Primeval Forest. In the academic year 2020\/2021, the research station was allocated a new building which constitutes technical and laboratory base which is used to conduct field activities and research for BA theses, MA theses and BSc theses.<\/p>\n

The research station of the Department of Zoology and Animal Ecology is equipped with a building that provides technical and research facilities. There is research conducted in the field of biology and ecology of various groups of invertebrates and vertebrates, especially avifauna.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Professor T. Efner Small Ruminant Research Station<\/h3>\n\t\t
\n\t\t\t

The research station is part of the Institute of Animal Breeding and Biodiversity Conservation. The activities are focused on sheep and goat production, of the area of 64 ha of arable land. There are four breeds of sheep in the facility, i.e. Uhruska and \u015awiniarka – both covered by the genetic resources conservation programme – and two new breeds BCP and SCP which are created by a team of employees of the Institute of Small Ruminants Breeding. What is more, there are two breeds of goats at the research station: the Saanen goat and the Boer goat. There are approximately 550 mother sheep and 30 goats in the basic herd. The station hosts field activities for students of various majors. The animals provide an excellent experimental base for the research staff of the university and for cooperation with teams from other universities and research institutes. The University of Life Sciences in Lublin together with the Regional\u00a0Association of\u00a0Sheep and Goat Breeders are the owners of the trademark “Jagni\u0119cina z Lubelszczyzny”.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Field Research Station in Parczew<\/h3>\n\t\t
\n\t\t\t

The station covers an area of 25.89 ha. The majority of soils are of IV, V and VI quality class. Currently, the facility is leased, with the possibility of student internships at the centre.
