There are three Experimental Farms that belong to the university (non-departmental units). The statutory tasks of experimental farms include scientific research and support for teaching activities, i.e. exercises, seminars and student internships.<\/p>\n

They are located in three different geographical regions of Lubelskie Voivodship. This diversity of natural and organisational conditions enables conducting multi-directional and interdisciplinary research and experiments (agronomy, animal sciences, processing, veterinary medicine).<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

UHRUSK<\/h1>\n

The Experimental Farm in Uhrusk is situated in a picturesque and ecologically clean area of W\u0142odawa district near the border with Ukraine. It covers an area of 576 ha of agricultural land, of which more than 130 ha is permanent grassland located in the region of Bug River. The most common plant species are, i.e.: wheat, triticale, barley and corn. Additionally, there are species of plants grown that improve the structure of soil – leguminosae and rapeseed. Crop production largely depends on multi-directional livestock production. Currently, there are four breeds of cattle kept in Uhrusk: the Holstein Friesian cattle, the Polish\u00a0White-backed\u00a0cattle, the Simmental cattle, the Limousin cattle and mixed breeds of the above. Those are mainly dairy cattle, with a significant proportion of native White-backed cattle which is covered by the genetic resources conservation programme.\u00a0 There are also sheep of the Uhrusa breed which was created by the team of prof. Adam Doma\u0144ski, the first dean of the Faculty of Zootechnics at the university. Another branch of animal production conducted in the discussed unit is the fattening of geese (Polish: g\u0119\u015b owsiana). The farm has an accommodation base for 8-10 students who can complete their internships at the property.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t

CZES\u0141AWICE<\/h1>\n

The Experimental Farm in Czes\u0142awice is located in the immediate vicinity of Na\u0142\u0119cz\u00f3w. It is a 244.8 ha facility adapted to plant production (rapeseed, wheat, sugar beet) and animal production focused on pig breeding. The farm maintains pigs of the native breed, the Pu\u0142awska breed, which is covered by the genetic resources conservation programme.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

FELIN<\/h1>\n

This is a typical farm for suburban conditions. The land of 50 ha is used for field experiments conducted by departments of the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture and the Faculty of Agrobioengineering. The farm is focused on crop production. Additionally, there are teaching buildings and an orchard, a storage room, greenhouses, and a drying house. At the facility, students can complete their internships and conduct experiments for their theses.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t
